S.
Department of Education.
The goal of Educational Talent Search (ETS) is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education.
The Project Director will provide administrative leadership, will have full authority for project administration, and will ensure that policies and procedures are in compliance with the College, the state, and the U.
S.
Department of Education regulations.
In addition, the Director will serve some of the target schools, providing services to participants, for optimal project performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, coordinate, and evaluate all services provided by the Educational Talent Search Program in relation to project objectives, including identification, selection, financial aid review, mentoring, provision of services, and follow-up of program participants.
Ensures that the operations and activities are in conformance to and in compliance with Federal guidelines for TRIO/ETS Program policies and procedures.
Represents the College in a variety of meetings in support of the TRIO - ETS project/program and activities; maintains liaison with applicable agencies.
Travels to school sites.
Markets the ETS program and publicizes program objectives, procedures, and outcomes to secondary school faculty, staff, and administration.
Develop and facilitate educational activities, cultural events, and/or programs.
Continually assess and document participant persistence and progress in completing high school.
Develop and implement strategies for tracking all participants who enroll in post-secondary education following high school graduation for up to six years.
Collect data using various data collection methods such as interviews, applications, and surveys.
Collaborates with the PR department to develop program publicity materials including brochures, newsletters, applications, display posters and banners, and parent packets.
Ensure efficient and effective budget management in accordance with EDGAR, OMB Circulars, EOC regulations, ESCC and ACCS policies.
Maintain excellent public relations, anticipate needs of the grant, and develop recommendations for filling these needs.
Supervise and evaluate Talent Search program staff members.
Conduct initial interviews with participants and parents to orient them about program services/requirements, and complete comprehensive needs assessment for students.
Assist participants with the college admissions and financial aid process.
Provide academic coaching and career advising to student participants.
Organize and conduct college campus visits, career, or cultural field trips.
Serves as the representative of the ETS program at any local, state, regional, or national meetings.
Timely submission of complete and accurate Annual Progress Report (APR) to funding agency.
Establish and foster positive relationships with target school personnel, college employees, and parents.
Maintain regular personal contact with all students enrolled in the ETS program in order to provide students with assistance related to any personal, financial, or academic problems.
Serve on college committees.
Fulfill other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Dean of Students and/or the President.
Qualifications REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or a closely related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in education, social services, or closely related field, or working with a grant-funded program serving a similar population.
One or more years' experience with TRIO programs or working with a diverse or low-income, first-generation population, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Administrative or supervisory experience including the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, schools, agencies, and community organizations.
Experience in budget management and program evaluation.
Knowledge of college admissions and financial aid processes and competency in assisting students with these services.
Other Special Qualifications/Requirements of the Job:
Demonstrated knowledge of EDGAR, OMB and other related U.
S.
Department of Education policies and procedures.
Competency in verbal and written communications; sufficient computer skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include occasional evening or weekend assignments.

Salary Schedule C3 Rank A $63,577-$101,034, based upon the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule to be determined by the applicant's education and years of applicable experience.
